Select Our Future Marine Leaders

Help us select this year’s six MantaWatch Interns.

We’ve teamed up with Guy’s Trust again to offer this amazing educational opportunity to Indonesian marine science students. Six Guy Joseph MantaWatch Awards are available to outstanding students, providing full scholarships to our 2014 MantaWatch Internship Program.

The MantaWatch Internship Program is a four-week professional development program for young manta ambassadors and future marine leaders in Indonesia. Through a combination of classroom learning, field work, career development and mentoring, the program equips interns with the experience and skills that will enable them to become future marine conservation leaders.

We need your help to select which of the shortlisted candidates has got what it takes to be a manta ambassador!

Head over to our internship page to meet this year’s candidates. Vote for the applicant or applicants who you think are most deserving and will make the biggest impact on marine conservation. All you have to do is “Like” their profiles.

The candidates with the most likes at 12 midday GMT on July 25, 2014 will pass through to the final round, where they will be interviewed by our selection panel.

Andrew Harvey is a marine conservation scientist specialising in biodiversity monitoring, marine protected areas and community conservation. He is the founder of MantaWatch, an organisation that is applying emerging social technologies to raise awareness and develop tools for manta ray conservation.
