This morning so clearly, there was good to start the activity. We’ve already learned so much new knowledge about manta rays. Yesterday we learned about manta introduction like manta identification, his behavior, life cycle, and etc. Today we learned about manta survey.
Do you know data or information about manta ray until now is limited? Therefore needed from every one of us to help collecting this data. Maybe many people are asking, who can participate? how we can do it? is it difficult or not? And the answer is absolutely yes, everyone can participate and be a MantaWatcher, it’s easier than you think!.
We only need a camera to be a MantaWatcher, and to take the photo if we encounter the manta. We are only just counting and taking identification photos of the unique markings for manta survey, so we can sharing information with everyone around the world.
After lunch we learned how to use the underwater camera with Elitza. It’s very interesting how to take a good picture of a manta ray. In this afternoon all of us went to a dive site in Bidadari Island to practice using the camera underwater. Today there was something different, when we are diving Elitza and Andy are pretending to be Melanistic and Leucistic mantas. And we like paparazzi try to take good photos of them for simulation. It’s harder than it seems, because of the light and shadows, but it was fun and all of us enjoyed very much!
