Today is World Oceans Day. We thought a good way to mark this important celebration of the ocean would be to begin a search for future marine conservation leaders. And we need your help.

This year we’ve teamed up with Guy’s Trust again to offer an amazing educational opportunity to Indonesian marine science students. Four Guy Joseph MantaWatch Awards are available, providing full scholarships to our 2013 Internship Program.

The MantaWatch Internship Program equips marine science students with practical experience and scientific skills. Through a combination of classroom learning, field studies, career development support and mentoring, the program aims to provide the foundation that will enable our Alumni to become manta ambassadors and future marine conservation leaders.

We need your help to decide which of our 11 shortlisted candidates has got what it takes to be a manta ambassador!

Head over to our internship page to meet this year’s candidates. Vote for the applicant or applicants who you think are most deserving and will make the biggest impact on marine conservation. All you have to do is “Like” their profiles.

The four candidates with the most Likes at 12 midday GMT on July 19, 2013 will make it through to the final round of interviews with our selection panel, before being awarded a place on this year’s internship program.

We hope you’ll agree that this is a fitting way to mark World Oceans Day.
