We’re pleased announced the successful applicants who will join the 2014 MantaWatch Internship Program.

This year’s MantaWatch interns will join our team in West Manggarai and Komodo from September 07 to October 03, where they will work with local stakeholders to support the implementation of a new shark and manta ray sanctuary. They will each receive a Guy Joseph MantaWatch Award, which provides a fully-funded scholarship to the program.

Ayu Ginanjar Syukur

I am always curious about subjects related to my field of study and my passion. Through the MantaWatch Internship Program I hope I can increase my knowledge about manta ray ecology and conservation, and share my knowledge with local communities and tourists. And of course help to conserve manta rays!

I am interested in marine conservation. I’ve had some training from the Coral Triangle Center about fish surveys, and experience joining marine monitoring expeditions in Indonesian marine protected areas. I hope the Manta Watch Internship Program will provide the knowledge and experience for me to become a future marine conservation leader.

Muhammad Ramadhany

As a member of the Fisheries Diving Club at IPB I already have some scientific diving experience. Through the MantaWatch Internship Program I hope to increase my skills, and share my knowledge about underwater ecosystems, animals and coastal areas. I want to help make the world more aware about marine conservation, especially manta rays!
