October is Manta Month in Komodo National Park, Indonesia. This is one of the best times of the year to see mantas in Komodo and, with your help, a chance to understand and protect Komodo’s manta ray populations.

From September 24 to October 20 the MantaWatch team will be in Komodo tracking mantas, and sharing their knowledge and stories about manta ray research and conservation.

Supported by Komodo’s top dive centers, including Dive Komodo, Divine Diving, and Kanawa Diving, we’ll be heading out for daily expeditions and manta safaris to observe the many majestic mantas that inhabit Komodo’s waters.

If you’re near Komodo during Manta Month, why not join the manta fever!

During the daily manta expeditions, you’ll have the opportunity to learn more about manta rays, how to take great manta ID photos, and how to maximize your manta encounters under the careful guidance of our team of experts and young Indonesian manta scientists and Guy Jospeh Award winners.

And during Manta Month we’re giving away some great prizes to the most active MantaWatchers, including a top of the range Canon S100 and underwater housing.

Manta Month is all about taking part. The more manta photos you collect, the better we can understand and protect Komodo’s manta populations. So come and join us during Manta Month in Komodo!
